FAQ

Questions visitors ask

Did not find your answer here? Call us or send a message using the form below.

Do I need to be Buddhist to visit?

No. Everyone is welcome, whether you are Khmer, Buddhist, a neighbour or simply curious. You are welcome to watch the chanting, sit quietly, or share a meal after the monks have eaten. Simple customs are explained on our About page.

Is there a cost to visit?

Coming to pray, sit in meditation or join the community is free. Offerings are always voluntary, and you can support the temple online through CanadaHelps.

What should I bring as an offering?

Nothing is required. If you would like to make an offering, many families bring fresh fruit, cooked food or sweets in time for the morning or lunch offering, since the monks take their last meal before noon. Flowers, candles and incense are also common for the altar. If you are unsure, ask a member of the community.

Can I bring my children?

Yes. Children are very welcome at the temple and at festivals. Please keep them close, help them take off their shoes, and encourage quiet voices during chanting and meditation.

Is there parking?

Yes. There is a free on-site parking lot at the temple (5883 Hazeldean Road), with marked spaces. On big festival days the lot fills early, so please arrive early or carpool.
