About us

អំពីយើង

A Khmer Buddhist temple in Canada’s capital

The temple, also known as Watt Ratanakpratib, is the home of the Ottawa-Hull Cambodian Buddhist Association, a registered Canadian charity. Cambodian families of the Ottawa–Gatineau region founded the association to keep Khmer Buddhist practice, language and culture alive for their children and grandchildren. Today it serves Khmer families across Ottawa–Gatineau, including Kanata, Stittsville, Barrhaven, Orléans and Gatineau/Hull.

Today the temple is a place to pray, to listen to the Dhamma, to share a meal after the monks have eaten, and to be among neighbours. Whether you are Khmer, Buddhist, or simply curious, you are welcome.

  • Theravada tradition: the Buddhist path of the elders, as practised in Cambodia.
  • Khmer heritage: language, music, food and festivals passed on to the next generation.
  • Open to everyone: newcomers, families and visitors are always welcome.
